How Does It Work?
What’s the difference between distance coaching and face to face coaching?
On line career counseling works the same way as face to face career coaching – EXCEPT you choose a meeting schedule that’s convenient for you with a coach matched to your unique needs.
How does distance career coaching work?
Distance career coaching works like this:
- Fill out an intake form so we can match you with the correct coach and conduct preparatory work to make the most of your coaching experience. You may receive additional requests (by e-mail) for information from your coach as he or she prepares for your first meeting.
- If your program includes assessment tools, you take the assessments and review the results. You may want to e-mail your coach before your first session about your special concerns.
- You and your coach meet by telephone for your initial session at the time arranged and work through the issues you identify as your priorities.
- You and your coach agree on assignments and next steps for you to take before your next session.
- Sessions continue using appropriate tools and methods. When your career coaching pre-paid sessions are concluded, you may choose to extend your relationship. If so, you can choose the number of sessions you’d like to purchase now – or at a future date. For example, you may choose to return to your sessions after a six month on the job trial period, or after a particular work event.
What Happens When My Sessions Are Over?
Once you’ve been a Your Career Doctors career coaching client, you can return at any time for any reason. Want to brush up before a critical interview? Before the start of a new team assignment or promotion? Coaching is a key component for success of many top executives – join their ranks and achieve the success you deserve.
Twenty minute sessions can be purchased at any time after your initial complement concludes. And, as long as you are a Career Shield Member, you will even receive a discount off the regular price per session.
How Do the Results Compare to Face to Face Coaching?
Data tell us that in many ways distance coaching is not only as effective, but actually more effective, than face to face coaching for many clients. Why?
Clients are more relaxed and in a familiar setting, so some of the negative effects of traditional counseling aren’t present.
Many individuals will be more honest in a virtual setting than in a face to face session. The anonymity of the virtual process is actually a plus.
By eliminating geographic restrictions, you can be matched with a coach that best meets your needs – not the closest coach but the best coach.
